Membership is designed to support athletes competing at different levels and is split into two performance-based tiers: Tier 1 and Tier 2
Your tier is determined by our Academy Managers following squad selection and will reflect the level of support and services appropriate to your sport and performance goals.
Sports Academy membership includes gym membership, giving you access to Hartpury's gyms. Students who are not members of a Sports Academy can purchase a separate gym membership.
Membership fees
All Sports Academy athletes pay an upfront fee at the start of the academic year. Once squad selections are confirmed, you’ll be assigned a membership tier, as determined by our Sport Academy Managers, and charged any remaining balance due in November.
Activities delivered through Hartpury Active and Hartpury Students' Union sit outside the Sports Academy membership structure.

What’s included in each Tier?
Each membership tier provides access to a package of support which can include coaching, training, facilities and performance services. The level of support available varies by tier and sport.
- Eligibility for Association of Colleges (AoC), British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) or National Governing Body (NGB) competitions where relevant.
- AoC or BUCS competition fees paid.
- Access to Hartpury campus training facilities, kit and equipment.
- Annual gym membership.
- Access to the TeamBuildr Strength and Conditioning app and Teamworks Nutrition app.
- Performance analysis support and software e.g. Hudle (sport dependent).
- Transport to fixtures and away games.
- Team playing kit and laundry services for kit.
- Replacement and maintenance of equipment.
- £20 Elite Pro Sports voucher for sports kit.
- Free entry to Hartpury RFC and Hartpury FC fixtures.
- Nuffield Health discount.
- SOCS cloud-based sports management platform.
- Discounted rate through selected sponsorship partners.
In addition to the shared benefits, Tier 1 membership also includes:
- High level coaching, training and competition (including officials or referees).
- Sport psychology support.
- Coach led strength and conditioning sessions.
- Sports nutrition support.
- Medical services team and sports injury clinic.
- Performance lifestyle support (select student-athletes).
In addition to the shared benefits, Tier 2 membership also includes:
- Access to coaching and training.
- Competition officials or referees.
- Discounted rates in our sports injury clinic.
- Drop-in coach led strength and conditioning sessions in our Power Gym (booking required).
Tier 1 and 2 shared benefits

We offer scholarships for students with the potential to excel in their chosen sporting field.

Important information
Sports Academy membership is required for students who wish to represent a Hartpury Sports Academy. Membership provides access to a range of benefits and services, but does not guarantee selection for a team, squad or competition.
Membership fees and support packages vary by sport and performance level. While most sports are covered by the standard membership structure, additional costs may apply for certain programmes, such as Golf and Rowing, due to higher delivery costs.
By joining a Sports Academy, you agree to follow the expectations and codes of conduct outlined in the Hartpury Sport Athlete Guide and Supporting Academic Achievement policy.
Hartpury may also collect and process personal data relating to your participation in sport in accordance with our privacy policies and applicable data protection requirements.
