Success Stories

 BSc (Hons) Equestrian Sport Science

Thalia Edwards

Thalia studied BSc (Hons) Equestrian Sports Science and has now taken up the role of Human and Equine Sports Massage Therapist. She gets to work with vets, physio and chiropractors to enhance the performance of the horse and rider.

"I first found out about Hartpury when I was working for event rider Helen Ball. She had a McTimoney practitioner working on her horses and I loved seeing the benefits he made to them, so she recommended Hartpury to me. Finding this degree brought me back to my passion of getting to work with both the horse and rider. I really enjoyed the Human and Rider Performance module. It brought the horse and rider back together, and focused on the rider as an athlete. That’s what’s led me to the job I do today.

My lecturers encouraged me to get as much experience as possible and were always on hand to give advice. I worked in the Equine Therapy Centre on campus as well as helping with the business-side of things at the Hartpury arena. It was a huge part of me being able to get a job once I graduated."
